HOST FAMILY: How
does the exchange work?
After you got our information package, you'll send the completed
host-family questionnaire, the signed host-family agreement and
a couple of pictures of your family to AuPair Austria.
After maintaining your deposit of 90 EUR, you will receive as
quick as possible (one to two weeks) one to 3 candidates we propose
to
you.
After you picked a candidate, we organize a telefon-interview with
the candidate so you can make yourself a first impression of the
aupair.
If there is a good chemistry between you and the candidate, we
conclude an aupair-contract between you and the aupair.
After maintaining the registration form for the labour exchange,
the AuPair can apply for the visa in its home country.
In the meantime we organise in agreement with you and the AuPair
the departure. As soon as the visa is made out, the AuPair may
come to your house.
Within a few days, the AuPair is supposed to notify itself at the
competent registration authority.
The
telefon interview
The first time you call your AuPair at home, it can happen, that
the AuPair is very nervous and excited – might seem a litte
bit confused to you. Please think about that this kind of behavior
the situation brings along.
- Talk clearly and plain and give the AuPair time
to appear to the language.
- Tell the AuPair, that
you’ve read her application and that you’re
interested.
- Introduce you and your family in short, simple
sentences.
- Tell about, how and where in Austria
you live and how your daily life looks like.
- Share
your expectations you request from the AuPair.
- Arrange a second appointment for an telefon-interview
within the following 24-hours, where you talk longer
to the AuPair.
- That gives the AuPair the opportunity
to be prepared for the conversation.
- As a hand,
prepare for this conservation a list with important
questions.
